Five steps, from installing the app to your shop updating itself each day.
1. Install the app
Install Stison Connector from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions it asks for. It needs to create and edit products, author entries and files (covers and portraits) in your shop, which is why it asks for those.
2. Pick a plan
You pick a plan straight after installing. Shopify handles the payment and it appears on your normal Shopify bill.

Both plans start with a 14-day free trial. There is no free plan: without an active plan the app doesn't read or write anything.
A title here is one book, however many editions it has. A novel in paperback, hardback and ebook counts once. Archived titles, series bundles and products you made yourself don't count. Once a shop on Standard has 2,000 titles, the app keeps updating them all but stops adding new ones, and the dashboard shows how many are waiting with a Change plan button. After you change plan they're added automatically (from files in the last week). See Some new titles haven't appeared.
3. Connect Stison
Open Stison setup in the app, click Create login, and copy the details into a new destination in Stison. The password stays hidden until you click the eye icon next to it. The Connect Stison page walks through every field.
4. Check a dry run
The app starts in dry run. When Stison's first file arrives, the app reads it and reports what it found on the Stison feed page (the app's dashboard), without changing your shop. Have a look: does the number of titles look right? Are there problems listed? See Dry run and the dashboard.
Stison send your whole catalogue each day. To get the first file without waiting for tomorrow, tick Run Now on the destination in Stison.
5. Turn on writing
When you're happy, click Start writing to the store on the dashboard. Files from the past week that were only dry run are then written for real, straight away. After that, every file Stison send is written to your shop as it arrives.
You can go back at any time with Switch to dry run.
