Stison Connector help

Stison Connector is a Shopify app that keeps your online shop in step with the title information you already keep in Stison.

What it does

You already keep your titles in Stison: prices, blurbs, authors, covers, publication dates. Stison can send all of that out as a file. The app takes that file and uses it to update the books in your Shopify shop, so you don't have to type anything twice.

Stison send a file once a day, a bit like a nightly delivery of your catalogue's paperwork. Each file holds your whole catalogue, so your shop always matches what's in Stison. The app checks for a new file every 15 minutes and updates your shop from it. So a change you make in Stison today usually shows in your shop after Stison's next daily send, not straight away.

From each file the app:

• creates a product for each title, with the paperback, hardback, ebook and audiobook as options of that one product
• keeps prices, descriptions, covers and publication dates up to date
• creates an author entry for each author, which your theme can use for author pages
• makes an ebook bundle for each series (for example a trilogy sold as one ebook purchase)
• archives titles your feed no longer lists

Nothing is written to your shop until you say so. Every new install starts in a dry run, which is a rehearsal: the app reads each file and tells you what it would do, without touching the shop.

Who it's for

Publishers who hold their title data in Stison and sell through a Shopify shop. You don't need to know anything technical to use it. You will need access to Stison's settings to add one destination (the place Stison send the file to), and permission to install apps in Shopify.
